'La Isla de la Trinidad' is the name Christopher Columbus gave to the island of Trinidad and Tobago when he landed there in 1498. Its Amerindian name was 'lere' or the land of the Hummingbird.
Its motto, Together we Aspire Together we Achieve is not for naught. The country has the third highest pa capita income in the Americas after Canada and US. Even better, the country is sited well out of the Hurricane Belt.
